And both try to make up for their traits with electronic trickery now.

Name a performance car that doesn't.

What you call "electronic trickery", I call Truth in Engineering. Clearly displayed in this clip of an RS6 Avant blowing away the CLS63 AMG while cornering. Trickery? No....that's called Quattro.

RS6 versus CLS63

Because of today's automotive climate, most cars have some form of electronic nannies. However, I feel Audi is the worst offender. Instead of fixing their flawed chassis layout (nose-heavy, AWD,) they leave to the electronics eliminating any driver skill. And Porsche does it too now, because they figure too many idiots would lift-off oversteer themselves into oblivion.

Yes, companies like BMW and even the new Viper employ some electronic aids. For the most part though, these are simple traction control or stability control systems. No torque vectoring with those!

This is also why I like old sports cars where the only electronics are ignition related.

Yea, the Quattro allows a better exit out of the corner, but I'd rather have the CLS63 for dorifto!

They are both incredible cars, no question. If you haven't watched that whole video, you should. It is a great review and comparison.
